Dear Stratton School Families & Staff:

I wanted to update our Stratton School community with the most recent Covid 19 requirements pertaining to school operations. Please be aware that masks are required on school buses by CDC order and in the building by CDC recommendations.
We will follow CDC guidelines for the prevention of COVID-19 in schools.  This includes promoting vaccination, consistent and correct mask use, physical distancing, screening testing, ventilation, handwashing, and respiratory etiquette, staying home when sick, contact tracing, in combination with isolation and quarantine, and cleaning and disinfecting.
New this year: We will participate in Pooled testing, participation in voluntary and consent is required.  Participation in Pooled testing will allow students and staff to remain in school even if determined to be a “close contact” in most cases.  The pooled testing program can identify COVID-19 infection before symptoms are present and prevent others from becoming infected.  The pooled testing is a PCR test which is the “gold standard” of testing.
We will continue to use the BinaxNOW COVID-19 antigen testing cards for individuals who are part of a positive pool or who display symptoms or have other concerns that they may be infected with the COVID-19 virus.  Testing is voluntary and consent is required.
More information about the prevention strategies and testing can be found on the Maine.gov website.
Please call or email Trisha Lebeda, R.N. for any additional questions please email me at tlebeda@strattonschool.org– 246-2283
Let’s all work together for a safe and successful school year.
