Field Day – June 8th, 2022

Despite a little rain, Field Day went off without a hitch. Events included pizza box races, wiffleball, parachute, and much more. The biggest hit of the day was tug of war, where the staff handily defeated 7th and 8th Grade!

Sunflower Sale : Planting seeds of hope and peace for Ukraine 

The Stratton Garden team will be selling sunflower seedlings and seed packets on Friday June 10th from 2:00-3:00pm in the Stratton School Gazebo. 

We are partnering with The Ascentria Care Alliance: Services for New Americans.

All money raised will be going to food assistance for the Ukrainian refugee community in West Springfield, MA.

If you are unable to make the sale and would like to purchase seeds/seedlings or make a donation, please email Mrs. Flight @ aflight@strattonschool.org

Sugarloaf Mountain Clean-up Day – May 27th, 2022

Last Friday, the Grades 1 through 8 went up to Sugarloaf to clean up the mountain in an effort to thank them for all they do for our school community.

2nd Grade Butterflies and Timberland Tuesday

2nd Grade has been making the most of the nice spring weather. They recently released their butterflies to the wild, and also worked on some paper airplanes as part of Timberland Tuesday.

Maine CDC’s Lyme Disease Poster Contest

With the help of Nurse Trisha and Art teacher Anne Flight, students in grade Pre-K-4 recently participated in the Maine CDC’s Lyme disease poster contest.  Samantha Landry in First Grade was selected as the state wide winner for her age group.  Addie Knieser in Grade 4 was selected as the honorable mention for this year and was also a winner for her age group last year.  The students demonstrate their knowledge of how to prevent Lyme disease through art work. Great job girls!

2nd Grade visits Norlands – May 10th, 2022

As part of their studies on life in the 1800s, Second Grade recently took a trip to Norlands . The kids went to school and baked in the kitchen. They picked rhubarb, fetched water, washed dishes and filled the woodbox.
